Year 6 Space Centre visit
Thursday 9th November 2017
What a blast! Year Six had an amazing day today at the National Space Centre in Leicester.
To start the day, we explored rocket science and watched as fireworks and rockets were made and launched right before our very eyes. It was great to see the forces in action and to talk about the history of rocket power – the children also enjoyed a great interactive quiz (at which they were experts!).
As the day went on, we programmed our own Mars Rover Rangers and instructed them to complete different missions – this was great fun and a real test of our team work! We also gazed merrily at the Soyuz Rockets, actual space food and of course genuine space ships. The children learnt a huge amount and returned exhausted after having a wonderful day out.
