Year 5 - Victorian Day
Wednesday 30th October 2019
Year 5 were treated with an excellent day learning about the Victorian era. The day began with a tense Victorian style assembly learning all about the British Empire.
The children were enthralled. After this, they were introduced to the world of dance. The waltz was the dance of the day and the children, although finding it difficult, really enjoyed learning it. Once this was complete, they went back to their classes and worked on some exciting tasks.
They were introduced to life in a Victorian school, they touched and explored some artefacts and worked together to read and find the answers to a variety of questions. In the afternoon, all the children were introduced to Jack the Ripper. They became detectives to try to solve the mystery of who Jack really was. It was incredible how hard they worked. All the teachers were so proud of how mature the children were throughout the day.
