Year 2 kite-making

As part of the fabulous book they're studying (Malala's Magic Pencil), Year 2 made and flew some terrific kites today! The book is set in Pakistan and tells the story of young Malala, whose magic pencil is used to draw away some of the not-so-nice things that were around her when growing up. Near to where she lives is the Basant Festival which sees lots of young people making and flying kites on their rooftops, having a wonderful time. This is what Year 2 replicated today (but flew their kites on the field instead and definitely not on the rooftops!).
