Year 2 WOW - China Day

Monday 9th September 2019 

Our year 2 children had an amazing, educational and exciting WOW day, exploring everything Chine-culture, food, dress, celebrations and language. We took part in a variety of activities from making Chinese drums, placing Chinese yen into our lucky envelopes, tasting Chinese food and joining in with Chinese music.

 Many of our children were enthused to try the Chinese food and some of them loved the vegetarian spring rolls on the menu. We attempted to use chopsticks with some success stories. We had the opportunity to learn about the New Year celebrations and explore how exciting it is through watching some videos and sharing stories.

 This event will set the foundations to gain a better understanding of our China topic this half term. It was definitely a successful day of culture exploration!
