Raft-building
Sunday 30th September 2018
It was ships ahoy today, as a group of pupils visited Caldecotte Lake for a spot of raft-building! The children worked in two teams and were given a selection of barrels, ropes and wooden poles to use to construct their rafts. After learning how to tie knots, the children set to work showing team-work, resilience and co-operation to build the rafts, before carrying them to the lake's edge to see how well they did their job on the water. And......success: both rafts floated fantastically, although their navigators did seem to spend more time in the water than on the actual rafts! After their time on the lake was over, the children had the opportunity to jump into the lake, which seemed to be enjoyed just as much as the raft-building itself!
