Years 4-6 Chantry Boccia Stars
Friday 3rd February 2017
Boccia is an inclusive target based sport that develops throwing and accuracy skills. Nine of our children from Years 4 to 6 represented Chantry at the Sainsbury’s Boccia Tournament on the 2nd February. We travelled to Luton Sixth Form College and played as 3 teams with 3 children in each. This is becoming an extremely popular tournament which involved 37 other teams from schools all over Luton. Each of our teams played against five other schools in their pool. The Chantry children performed well throughout their games, concentrating so carefully on aiming for the white ‘Jack’ ball and supporting each other on every turn. All our representatives proved to be patient and determined whilst remaining friendly and fair towards their opponents. They all did a great job and made the P.E. staff so proud when two of our teams made it through to the final eight teams. A great achievement considering how many teams attended.
