Year 2 WOW - Space Rockets

Year 2 had a great day making space rockets using household rubbish!

The children demonstrated many of our values during the day including, harmony and unity working in their teams and patience and commitment when they realised it was not quite as easy as they thought!

Out topic book this half term is “Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish” and is about a man who destroys the earth making a space rocket. Luckily the dinosaurs come back to life and help rebuild the world, making the man aware that the world belongs to everyone and should be protected.

The children learn about “Reduce Reuse Recycle” and about how our actions and disrespect of the earth can have a negative result on everyone, including animals.

We are looking forward to lots more exciting learning including at the end of the topic being taught how to make music using saucepans and household bits and pieces!
