Year 2 - Chinese Day

Tuesday 11th September 2018

Our year 2 children had an amazing, educational and exciting WOW day, exploring everything Chine-culture, food, dress, celebrations and language. We took part in a variety of activities from making Chinese drums, writing wishes for the New Year to place in our lucky envelopes, tasting Chinese food and even orchestrating our own dragon dance using a beautiful costume.

 Many of our children were enthused to try the Chinese food and some of them loved the seaweed option on the menu. We attempted to use chopsticks with some success stories. There was also the treat of taking home a fortune cookie to remember our WOW day experience.

 This event will set the foundations to gain a better understanding of our China topic this half term. It was definitely a successful day of culture exploration!
