World Book Day
Thursday 2nd March 2017
We really highlighted our love of reading today, when we organised a whole range of exciting activities to help celebrate national World Book Day.
Children (and staff!) from across the school came dressed up as their most loved book characters and we were amazed at all the hard work that went into the imaginative designs. Each class also created their own door 'covers' which represented a particular book cover. Once again, there were some truly breath-taking ideas!
As well as this, each class teacher had 2 Golden Tickets that they hid in their classroom for pupils to locate. Whoever found a ticket was able to visit Mrs Bateman's office to claim a special book day prize. And...last but not least, a lucky group of Key Stage 1 pupils made the short journey to the Grove Theatre to watch a fantastic story-telling show entitled 'Dizzee's Got Talent'.
All in all, we had a marvellous day and are already looking forward to 2018's World Book Day!
