O2 Young Voices Concert 2017
Monday 16th January 2017
It was a very special day for our school choir today when they had the most amazing experience; visiting the breath-taking O2 Arena in London to sing in the annual Young Voices choir! After rehearsing throughout the day, the children then performed with other UK schools to over 7000 people!
There were thousands of children in attendance at the world's largest children's choir and we were privileged to be part of the singing extravaganza. A diverse mix of songs were sung by the children, ranging from a pop medley to a 'rock mix' and even a song sung in Welsh! But it was guaranteed, whatever tunes the children were belting out, were sung with complete enthusiasm!
We travelled down via coach and parked up, ready for the big day to begin. After eating our lunches, we travelled up the enormous escalators to find our seats and settled in ready for our rehearsals to commence!
We went through all of the songs, including singing with some professionals and having a fantastic time watching the Urban Strides dance crew street dancing along to the music! After several hours of rehearsals, it was time for the big show...thousands of audience members flowed through the doors to find their seats, the lights went out...and the concert began! Ninety minutes of total enjoyment and fun was underway, with all of Chantry's fabulous choir singing along to all the catchy songs that had been learnt for the past few months! The concert was an overwhelming success and ended with rapturous applause that lasted for several minutes.
Well done everyone!
