Love Luton Half-Marathon
Sunday 29th October 2017
We continued our tradition of helping out in the community today by taking our Year 6 House Captains and Vice-Captains along to volunteer with the marshalling of the Love Luton Half-Marathon. It was a terrific day, full of community spirit, unity and lots and lots of running!
We all had an early start, meeting at school at 07:45am before heading down to the town centre to begin our jobs. Our base was outside the town hall where we had some very important jobs, including:
- sorting out and counting finishers' medals
- handing out fruit, water and snacks to the runners
- giving medals to all runners
- cheering, cheering and more cheering!
Our pupils truly did a magnificent job; they were enthusiastic throughout the entire day, showed real positivity and were amazing role models for the school. In fact, we received an enormous number of comments from the runners, letting us know how the children's encouragement really spurred them along...fantastic work!
