Lord Mayor's Show

Saturday 11th November

What an amazing experience children and staff had today when they took part in the breath-taking Lord Mayor's Show in central London. It was the first time Chantry had ever entered the prestigious event and was certainly an experience to be remembered!

The day started very early at 6:45, where we met at school to begin the journey into London using both our minibuses. We met up with the organiser of our Variety Club float, Pennie, donned our hoodies and caps and made our way to our position in the parade.

As everyone was getting into place, we had the chance to see some of the other floats and they were fantastic! There were SO many varied and fascinating groups taking part, it was simply brilliant to be part of such an atmosphere.

Once the show was underway, we were very popular with the thousands and thousands of crowd members, and it seemed we high-fived pretty much all of them! We danced and sang our way through miles of London streets and were simply loving everything that was going on.

After no time at all, the event was over, and although we were tired, we still had the energy to get to Pizza Express for dinner. It wasn't long after this that we were allowed exclusive access onto Blackfriar's Bridge to watch the spell-binding fireworks show that was being held in honour of the Lord Mayor's first day in post.

The whole day was simply spectacular from start to finish and one that will live long in the memories of all who were lucky to be in attendance.
