Lighting Up Luton parade

Saturday 25th November 2017

Some Year 4 pupils continued our now annual tradition today of taking part in the Lighting Up Luton parade! The event leads up to the switching on of the Luton Christmas lights and sees children and community groups from across Luton parade through town, up to the Town Hall. They then get a 'front row' position to see the entertainment on offer as well as the big 'switch-on' itself!

A few days before the event took place, the 12 children worked industriously to create recycled lanterns out of plastic bottles, adorning them with a whole range of lights and decorations to make them look absolutely fantastic. Then, on the day of the event, we all gathered at Park Town Children's Centre and made our way up to the Town Hall, joining with other community groups and parading round the stage area to some funky music being played by a live band!

It was a super event and one which everyone who took part really enjoyed :)
