Year 5 - Kingswood 2017

Friday 9th June 2017

Year 5 had an absolutely amazing time this past week when they made their annual visit to the Kingswood centre in Kent to take part in a 5 day adventure residential trip!

The children set off on the Monday morning, luggage all ready and boarded the waiting coach. After about an hour and a half, they reached the site and were met by Joe, their group leader for the week. He was full of energy and was just as excited to meet the children as they were to meet him! He toured them round the site before the children had to make their beds and unpack, ready for the week ahead.

It was soon dinner, after which, everyone got split into their groups for the week and began their activities (the first of 26 different things the children would do over the course of the week!). There was abseiling, the 3G swing, indoor laser tag, climbing, zip wire, the leap of faith and archery to name just a handful of the brilliant opportunities on offer.

The children thoroughly enjoyed everything they took part in and approached all activities with enthusiasm and 100% effort. They were fantastically well behaved, both during the day, but also in the evenings in their dormitories too (although they were so exhausted each evening, they were quite keen to sleep each night!).

On the Friday morning, after a week of utter fun, the children stripped their beds and took part in the final activities of their week away. Not long after, they boarded the coach once again, said goodbye to Joe and the Kingswood team and made the journey back to Luton. They seemed a lot more quite and subdued on their return to school- needless to say the week had taken its toll on them! Well done to all the children who were superb role models for Chantry.
