Care Club

Chantry is proud to offer parents childcare facilities both before and after school.

The club is managed by Mrs Janine Bruce, supported by a team of staff directly employed by the school. We are currently extending the club to accommodate the growing needs of our families. Staffing ratios are always maintained at a minimum of 1 adult for every 8 children.

We use Pavilion Room as our childcare base and have extended into Relay Class this September. The rooms are located in the separate building off the Key Stage 1 Playground, near the Wedgewood Road gate. This is accessible to parents before and after school directly through the Wedgewood Road gate.

Times:

Breakfast Club is open from 7:35am and children are taken to class in time for their 8:45am start.

After School Club offers three sessions
     - Session 1 is 3:30pm - 4:30pm.
     - Session 2 is 4:30pm - 5:30pm.
     - Session 3 is 5:30pm - 6:00pm.

Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club gives your child a cheerful and fun start to their day.

We provide croissants, pancakes or  crumpets on a weekly  basis.

We always follow dietary requirements and health restrictions.

*We use brown bread for our toast and sandwiches

After School Care Club

The After School Care Club is a service that allows the children to socialise and play in a safe  environment where they have a range of toys, games and activities at their fingertips.

When the school day is finished a member of staff accompanies the younger children to the club.

The children are given either  sandwiches, toast, baked beans, or cheese and crackers, and a wide choice of fresh fruit along with a drink.

Booking and Payment

Parents are required to register for Care Club and must book and pay for all sessions in advance. We accept childcare vouchers from a range of employee childcare voucher providers, including Computershare, Busy Bees, Fair Care and Edenred - we can register for other providers if required and we encourage the use of childcare vouchers.

We encourage parents to book sessions as far in advance as possible, preferably half a term at a time. These childcare places are often in demand so it is essential that we know of any opportunities to offer places to other families through the year.

Once again, all payments must be made in advance. Ideally, payment for the whole half term or for each month is preferred, however, weekly payments are acceptable.  We hope to offer online payment systems in the near future, however, at present we require cash, cheque or childcare voucher payments.

• Cheques should be made payable to Chantry Primary Academy Trust
• Childcare vouchers are payable to either Chantry Primary School or Chantry Primary Academy, Tomlinson Avenue, Luton, LU4 0QP

Daily Routines and Activities

In breakfast club, children are always offered cereal and toast with juice or water to drink. There is often yogurt and/or fruit available as well. After breakfast, children have the opportunity to play boards games but often enjoy helping to tidy up or just chatting to their friends until they walk across to school.

Children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 are brought across to after school club by staff, children in Years 3-6 walk across once they are dismissed from class. Once in after school club, children have the opportunity to have a small snack. such as fruit or a biscuit, during session 1. Children attending the second session will be offered another snack later, such as toast. The children have access to a wide range of activities including games, crafts, cookery, reading books, table tennis, table football, computers and computer games, there is also space for children to complete homework. Children also make use of the playground space in good weather.
